Seaford College – Planning Consent Granted
Located in the foot of the South Downs in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, in partnership with HNW Architects, Seaford College – a co-educational independent school – has received planning consent for its £3.3m extension and refurbishment of its sports hall providing significantly improved indoor sporting facilities, new school hall, events / sports area, gymnasium, state of the art dance, drama and multipurpose studios and climbing wall. HNW are also assisting Seaford College in developing and realising their masterplan proposals improving learning, sporting, activity and boarding facilities for its pupils. The Practice is working in collaboration with English Heritage and the South Downs National Park Authority throughout the design development process.
Development at Seaford College has included: the restoration of its unique listed structures; improved its 13th Century Church setting; received planning consent to cover the existing swimming pool adjacent to its Elizabethan mansion (The Mansion); returned sprawling development back in to listed parkland with improved sporting facilities; the restoration and return to use of its historic kitchen garden with the provision of new boarding accommodation.
