HNW’s focus was to deliver the front-end Architect’s vision and realise the Customer’s aspiration to provide the highest quality wet and dry side facility possible.

The project demanded a high level of coordination and attention to detail in order to deliver the ambitious finishes proposed both internally and externally across the facility. To achieve this we liaised extensively between supply chain partners, as well as ensuring all stakeholders and the client’s team were engaged as part of the process.

The original scheme required innovative thinking to manage budget challenges, and we led the extensive process to satisfy this, which also provided a lower embodied carbon solution overall. Utilising our sector experience and recognised delivery expertise, we were able to continuously offer robust and efficient solutions, often proposing alternative proposals, saving money, time and helping to de-risk the overall construction.
Hnw Architects Winchester Leisure Centre Winchester Site Plan
Winchester City Council had high aspirations for the building’s environmental performance. An EPC A rating was committed to at an early stage and a BREEAM rating of at least ‘Very Good’ was to be achieved, with an aspiration for ‘Excellent’, which was successfully achieved. When requested to explore what additional sustainability measures could be achieved midway through the delivery phase, the Design Team were able to successfully deliver an increase of more than 50% of the photos voltaic panels originally envisaged.
