Rowstock Gardens
Set in a constrained urban area, HNW delivered the redevelopment of two separate but linked sites within the Rowstock Gardens Estate for the London Borough of Islington.

The residential accommodation was spilt into a mews row of four 3-bedroom family homes and sixteen 1 and 2-bedroom apartments within a 4-storey building.

Delivering both affordable and private accommodation, including wheelchair housing, all were compliant with the London Housing Design Guide, Lifetime Homes and delivered Code 4 for Sustainable Homes.

The mews homes were built using traditional construction, whilst the apartments were predominantly pre-fabricated off site using a lightweight steel framing system to maximise efficiency and minimise waste.

The success of this project hinged on collaborative efforts and early engagement to seamlessly integrate modern methods of construction, ensure a high-quality scheme that helped to meet the housing need for the London Borough.

The finished scheme boasts high quality Affordable Housing that not only enhances the local area but importantly factors in some key sustainable approaches through an extensive green roof system, PV panels, communal charging points for mobility scooters, and the reuse of 90% of the material otherwise destined for landfill.
