Peter Symonds College – a Royal opening
The HNW Designed Hopkins’ Building at Peter Symonds College in Winchester has officially been opening by the Earl of Wessex, Prince Edward.
This dramatic pavilion type structure provides the College with flexible accommodation to suit current and future teaching needs. The building complements the adjacent Learning Research Centre by providing individual study spaces and IT spaces for student learning.
The building’s large overhanging roof connects the internal accommodation to the external Quadrant landscaping, whilst also provides shelter for students waiting for the college buses. The building, clad in Western Red Cedar and glass, achieved a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating.
