Pelham Street Planning Approval!
Lots has been going on behind the scenes at HNW Architects and we are excited to share with you the news that our project for client Osborne Developments at Pelham Street, Brighton has been granted planning permission by Brighton and Hove City Council. This scheme features 135 residential units and comprises a mixture of one, two and three bed apartments, as well as four family townhouses.
The city centre site borders two conservation areas. This influenced considerations of scale, massing, materiality and architectural detailing. Careful handling of these issues alongside many other sensitive design factors such as daylighting, ventilation, amenity provision and acoustic separation allowed us to achieve a solution that delivers the maximum number of high-quality new homes, whilst respecting and enhancing the surrounding urban heritage.
To create a #SustainableSocialLegacy an ‘all-electric’ approach to services will minimise carbon emissions on site. Green and blue roof systems, a ‘fabric first’ approach to energy reduction and onsite electric vehicle charging will all contribute to the delivery of a highly sustainable development.
Works on site are due to commence later in the year with project contractor, Osborne Construction.
