Park Surgery, Littlehampton: Planning Approval
Planning Approval has been received for a two storey extension and alterations to the Park Surgery in Littlehampton.
These works, made possible by successfully applying for ‘Primary Care Infrastructure Funding’ from NHS England, will enable the Surgery to further its support and care to the local community through an increase in consulting and administrative facilities, and also to provide dedicated and specialist facilities for Paramedic practitioners on site.
Recognising that both public access to GP’s, and GP recruitment is a very real and current problem, the Park Surgery has invested in the recruitment of Paramedic practitioners to operate regular ‘on the day appointment’ surgeries to treat minor injuries & illnesses thereby allowing patients better access to GP’s, whilst simultaneously reducing the impact on nearby Accident and Emergency centres.
This project primarily enables the Surgery to;
- Provide a facility that enables patients to be treated for minor injuries & illnesses rather than attend A&E,
- Allow patients better access to GP’s;
- Provide a conference / meeting room to assist in training;
together with making a positive impact on the surrounding area and benefitting the Local Community.
The works are anticipated to start on site in the spring with works anticipated to be completed before the end of the year. The proposals have been developed to target a Very Good BREEAM sustainability rating.
