Millais School – Horsham: Completion of New Entrance Block Phase
The transformation of Millais School in Horsham, into a 21st Century learning environment was recently celebrated at the official opening ceremony of the final phase of a £14m two-year campus redevelopment project, masterplanned, designed and taken through to completion by HNW.
The completion of the New Entrance to the School was the final phase of work required to provide a new ‘campus vision’ through review the existing estate and assessing the type and quantum of accommodation required for a significant school expansion, to accommodate 1500 pupils.
This phase follows the earlier completion of a new 3-storey Teaching Block (late 2014) and substantial external Landscaping works. The project was delivered for Millais and West Sussex by Willmott Dixon, via the Scape Framework.
The dramatic new Entrance Block connects three existing buildings via a large double height space with a central and coherent Reception. The building provides level access where it was previously not possible and includes new Teaching, Science and Administrative accommodation.
