Horsham Planning Approval!
Planning approval has been granted for the new Horsham Fire Station and Training Centre for West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service.
Working alongside Faithful & Gould, West Sussex County Council and Willmott Dixon, HNW Architects have designed ‘industry leading (training) facilities for fire and rescue service staff’, as well as a new 24-hour operational fire station for Horsham.
The design and the flow through the main building have been carefully considered and developed with key stakeholders, as West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service strive to adopt best practice to ensure their fire-fighters’ health and well-being. National and European research papers on the impact of prolonged exposure to contaminants have changed the perception of the working environment of firefighters, putting their health as the top priority through the implementation of specific behavioural models and design strategies. Horsham Fire Station & Training Centre will deliver transformational improvements to the Fire and Rescue Service, not only for the Horsham area but for all WSFRS staff.
