St Nicholas SEN School – Submitted for Planning

Initially appointed directly by London Borough of Croydon to carry out the initial feasibility study to expand the current school by one form of entry (1 FE), HNW were subsequently appointed by Willmott Dixon. The brief matured and now encompasses the design of a new 4 FE replacement school, which HNW are to develop and deliver.

The proposal responds to an increasing demand for SEN pupils across Croydon, thus reducing pressure on mainstream schools and reducing the need for primary age children with SEN requirements to travel to neighboring areas. Planning was submitted in December of 2017 and we are awaiting the response from the planners.

Project construction cost £19.5m

Completion at the Xcel Sports Hub – Waterside Drive

Xcel Sports Hub, Waterside Drive

October 2017

Shown here is a finished night time aerial photo of Waterside Drive in Walton: a 2 storey sports hub with 6 changing spaces, offices, medical room and fitness suite on the ground floor and kitchen, clubhouse, multi-function room and meeting space on the 1st floor.

Using construction information from HNW, Willmott Dixon upgraded the existing Walton Casuals FC ground and provided new appropriate modern facilities for both Walton & Hersham FC and Walton Athletics Club. This has culminated in the delivery of a focal point for sporting excellence within the Borough.

The grounds are situated on a former refuse and waste tip, opening up land to provide publicly accessible sports recreation facilities, whilst strengthening links to and increasing the potential access the Thames river frontage.
