Insider South East Property Awards finalist
HNW are delighted that our Novuna project is a Finalist in the ‘Insider’s South East Property Awards 2023’. The project has successfully reimagined the open-plan office concept, placing people at the forefront while embracing sustainability.
The completed project is a captivating and purposeful workspace, and our collaboration with Novuna Vehicle Solutions and Overbury has earned selection for the “Workplace Fit-out of the Year” award in recognition for the exceptional efforts in transforming an office space into a sustainable, customer focused, and aesthetically pleasing environment.
The Newbury Office Fit-Out workspace aligns with Novuna Vehicle Solutions' commitment to decarbonisation, sustainability, and customer satisfaction. Covering 1780m2 and accommodating 330 staff, the project blends traditional task seating with agile working, facilitating a hybrid work model. With an emphasis on biophilic design, the office incorporates indoor planting, natural lighting, nature-inspired textures and imagery, creating a harmonious and stimulating atmosphere.
The innovative design approaches include an indoor 'workplace' plaza with tree-lined 'avenues' and subtle changes in floor finishes. Inspired by Japanese gardens, paying homage to Novuna’s heritage, the design incorporates concepts of transition and reveal. LED-lit funnel-shaped pergolas divide the space, provide framed views and privacy. Timber screens create individual retreat booths, while tiered seating provides breakout areas. The boardroom combines Asian and European elements, reminiscent of sliding shoji screens.

The project prioritises sustainability through the use of sustainably sourced timber, carbon-neutral carpet, and senor-controlled LED lighting. Repurposing of IT infrastructure and incorporating furniture with recycled fabrics further reduces the office’s environmental impact. The conference room features upholstery that combats marine plastic pollution by using discarded plastic from landfills and oceans.
